| Παράθεση: | The name might be a tongue twister, but for big fun in a small package you really can't go wrong with a MINI. And this new John Cooper Works Cooper S is certain to be the best, the JCW alterations further enhancing an already entertaining package. The most obvious change to the spec sheet is the boost in power, the 1.6-litre turbocharged engine now boasting 211bhp. That increase has been achieved by modifications that MINI has tested on its MINI Challenge race cars, the enhancements including new specially polished pistons, a strengthened cylinder head, and a larger turbocharger.
The result of those changes is obviously a faster MINI, the JCW Cooper S managing the benchmark 0-62mph sprint in just 6.5 seconds. That performance isn't at the expense of economy either, the JCW Cooper S still managing a respectable 40.4mpg and 165g/km. Sharper suspension and bigger brakes should ensure that extra performance can be enjoyed to the maximum, while standard equipment has also grown in line with the JCW's range-topping status.

πάμε στοίχημα ότι αυτό το κουβαδάκι ξεπερνάει τα 30000 ;;;
είναι πάρα πολλά τα λεφτά...αξίζει άραγε....
το παρήγορο μάλλον θα είναι οτι ανάλογες βελτιώσεις θα γίνονται και στο rc....

στο ένα λέει 26κιλά ροπής κ με over boost 28 κιλά ροπής
κ στο άλλο λέει 25 κ με over boost 27!
μάλλον τα άλογα ντοπάρονται από το μεσογειακό κλίμα μας!

ok BHP λέει και είναι διαφορετικά από τα δικά μας HP....
Brake horsepower
Brake horsepower (bhp) is the measure of an engine's horsepower without the loss in power caused by the gearbox, generator, differential, water pump, and other auxiliary components such as alternator, power steering, and AC compressor. Thus the prefix "brake" refers to where the power is measured: at the engine's output shaft, as on an engine dynamometer. The actual horsepower delivered to the driving wheels is less. An engine would have to be retested to obtain a rating in another system. The term "brake" refers to the original use of a band brake to measure torque during the test (which is multiplied by the engine RPM and a scaling constant to give horsepower).

In the United States the term "bhp" fell into disuse after the American Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) recommended manufacturers use hp (SAE) to indicate the net power of the engine, given that particular car's complete engine installation. It measures engine power at the flywheel, not counting transmission losses (or anything after the flywheel).
Starting in 1971 automakers began to quote power in terms of SAE net horsepower (as defined by standard J1349). This reflected the rated power of the engine in as-installed trim, with all accessories and standard intake and exhaust systems. By 1972, US carmakers quoted power exclusively in SAE net hp. The change was meant to 'deflate' power ratings to assuage the auto insurance industry and environmental and safety lobbies, as well as to obfuscate the power losses caused by emissions-control equipment.
SAE net ratings, while more accurate than gross ratings, still represent the engine's power at the flywheel. Contrary to some reports, it does not measure power at the drive wheels.
Because SAE gross ratings were applied liberally, at best, there is no precise conversion from gross to net. Comparison of gross and net ratings for unchanged engines shows a variance of anywhere from 40 to 150 horsepower. The Chrysler 426 Hemi, for example, in 1971 carried a 425 hp gross rating and a net rating of 350 hp.[6]

ρε πάνο δεν είχα και πολή χρόνο να το ψάξω... τεσπα δεν ξέρω πόση είναι η διαφορά...αν ξέρει κανείς σίγουρα ας μας πει...
τεσπα κουβέντα να γίνεται... ποιό πολύ αφορά τους τουρμπάτους

Τελικά το post μου τότε ήταν προφητικό σχεδόν.
Προχθές αποχωρίστηκα το peugeotάκι μου  και αντικαταστάθηκε με ένα Mini Cooper S R56 (ίδιο μοτέρ με το RC) οπότε έχω λόγο να μπαίνω ακόμα στο Forum  !!!
Από το αμάξι μπορώ να πω ότι έχω ενθουσιαστεί όχι τόσο με τα άλογα του όσο με το πως στρίβει, σε κάνει να νιώθεις χέρας!! Είναι από τα λίγα Turbo αυτοκίνητα της κατηγορίας του που στην στροφή επάνω δεν πετάει μούτρα(φαντάζομαι ότο οφείλεται στο μπλοκέ).
Φαντάζομαι ότι ολο και κάποιον θα πετύχω απο το club όταν πάω μία βόλτα απο τον Στέλιο(salex)!
